C's Home

When I was back here in May, I was sitting in church one Sunday morning and heard my pastor say my name,  People turned to look at me and some of them applauded.  Now, understand that I attend a Thai speaking church.  If I want to learn from the sermon, I have to sit up in the balcony and listen to a translator over head phones or I have to listen very carefully.  And sometimes, to be honest, I get tired and just day dream a bit, which was what I was doing at the moment.  After the service I asked a friend what Pastor Winit had said about me.

"Oh," my friend said, "He said that your job has changed and you will be back in Thailand more often and he doesn't want you to stay in a hotel, so he told the construction workers to complete a room for you on the top floor."

"Whaaaaaat?!!!" was all I could reply.

The church has a five or six story office building, but was just completing a new six story building next to it, that will contain class rooms and meeting areas.  And now two rooms on the top floor, one for visiting pastors, etc, and one set aside for me when I visit.  Behold... C's room!

Coming off the elevator (no stairs for me!) is my room.

A huge room with cold air conditioning, a king sized bed, plenty of storage for my clothes and work table and wifi for when I want to log on and work from my room.  And just outside my room is a washing machine where I can do all my laundry.  It is ALL I can ask for.  Thank God and thank Immanuel Baptist Church.  This is a PERFECT place for me and saves me a lot of money (and saves my company a lot of money when I am here on business trips.  And being on the top floor, no one ever comes up here, so I have as much privacy as if I was in a four star hotel somewhere.
